John S. Mosby – Soldier & Attorney
$700
John Singleton Mosby (December 6, 1833 – May 30, 1916), also known as the “Gray Ghost”, was a Confederate army cavalry battalion commander in the American Civil War. Mosby’s Rangers or Mosby’s Raiders, as his command was known, became infamous among union troops for their almost guerilla-style attacks and equally swift ability to disappear. Mosby’s operation spread across north and central Virginia, which during his largely uncontested campaign, became known as Mosby’s Confederacy.
